Senedd Elections 2026 - Social Output

During the 2026 Senedd election, I helped plan and deliver social content designed to make election coverage accessible and engaging for younger audiences.
Working collaboratively with the newsroom, I contributed ideas, developed an accessible visual template and helped coordinate a steady flow of results updates and video content throughout election day.
The experience combined forward planning with fast-turnaround publishing, requiring creativity, adaptability and close collaboration to deliver timely, accurate content as results came in.

What went into the work

Content planning: Contributing ideas and developing formats to communicate election results clearly and consistently across social platforms.

Audience targeting: Helping shape content for younger audiences, considering how to make political information accessible to people less likely to visit the BBC website.

Visual content development: Contributing to an accessible, repeatable template that allowed results to be presented consistently throughout the day.

Fast-turnaround publishing: Producing captions and publishing timely results updates as information became available.

Video and multimedia: Supporting the flow of digital video content alongside static graphics and results posts.

Team coordination: Working collaboratively with colleagues to keep content moving during a busy, rapidly changing news day.

Accuracy under pressure: Balancing speed with careful handling of election information and editorial standards.
